Labradorite, Rhodonite and copper

This necklace was inspired by the Rustic Limpets (scientific name Patella Rustica) you find clinging to the side of rock pools at the seaside. I have tried to capture the interesting structure of their shells using the viking knit technique to create a bezel setting for the stones and also to form a surround which connects each stone together.
I have used Labradorite and Rhodonite stones, to reflect the colours in the shells and surrounding rock pools. I have arranged the central detail in an asymmetrical design to capture the chaotic ways of Mother Nature.
The centerpiece is connected to sections of Viking knit chain, which I have finished with hand made wire caps and Rose quartz beads. These are joined together with wrapped connectors with faceted Labradorite beads. The hand made clasp is accented with copper and rhodonite beads.
The necklace is 19' long, with the central detail measuring 3 1/2' across the widest point and 2 1/2' tall, it has a slight curve of 1/3'.
