This swirling neckpiece with it's deep blue accents of Lapis Lazuli stones reminds me of the Oceans on our planet.
The centre stone is a large tear-drop shaped Lapis Lazuli cabochon( 1 7/8' tall, 1 1/4' at it's widest point), which I have set using the Viking knitting technique, this is surrounded by a large frame of copper wire, which I have hand shaped and hammered. I have layered the frame wires to add depth to the design and embellished some of the swirls with Lapis Lazuli and copper beads of varying sizes. The centre piece is 3 3/4' at it's widest point, 2 3/4' tall and the hole piece is curved slightly by 1/4').
This centre piece hangs from 2 Viking knit chains, which are finished with handmade wire cones and a hook clasp, each chain is 9 3/4'. The total length of the necklace is 21'
I have oxidised this piece to highlight the detail.
