I was inspired by the torcs made by the Iceni tribe with there beautiful twisted wire detail and wanted to create a bracelet with that same look of strength combined with simple, delicate detail.
I have made this necklace with sections of 6 loop double Viking knit chain, which I have finished with handmade wire caps, The large central 12mm round Amethite bead and the four 10mm beads either side are encased in handmade wire spirals. A thick frame wire runs through the centre of the necklace, allowing it to hold it's circular shape, so that the necklace sits just below the collar bone. Connected to the main part by wrapped loops (forming a hinge) are two more sections of double Viking knit chain, these make the necklace very comfortable to wear and easy to take on and off. I have finished the necklace with a handmade hook clasp and link that I have hammered to add a contrast in textures.
The inside diameter is 17 1/2', the main part of the necklace has an inside measurement of 11' and the two Viking knit sections at the back each measure 3' plus the hook clasp and link.
