Copper wire and Blue Lace agate

Armlets have been worn throughout the ages and are perfect for those with a love of more unusual jewellery. Also known as arm cuffs or arm bracelets. Torcs, also called Torq or Torque, were worn in ancient Briton and Europe, some 2000 years ago, particularly by the Gauls and Vikings. They were generally a single piece or strands of metal, twisted together, to form a large, rigid ring.
This bold statement Armlet has two beautiful Blue Lace Agate stones, which I have framed with sweeps of copper wire and beads. The flowing lines of the central wire detail is made using a variety of gauges, some of which I have hammered, to add contrast.
The armlet is made with very thick central copper wire, which I have hand forged, hammering the ends, creating a tapered finish. The band of the armlet is constructed with three lengths of thick wire, which I have then woven together, adding detail whilst also making it very strong.
The Armlet has an inner circumference of 9 1/4', it can be adjusted, to make it larger or smaller but large adjustments will affect the alignment of the front detail. The central detail measures 2 1/3' tall and the band is 1/4' wide.
